Free Eye Screening & Public Awareness Program At Jaypate

Teachers and students of Birendra Secondary School, Jaypate participated in the "General eye health and Diabetic Retinopathy" education program. Total 280 people participated in education program.

BM Foundation conducted an eye camp in Shree Birendra Secondary School of Jaipatey village, ward number 5 of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Syangja. Total of 329 participant were there in the eye screening camp among which 208 of them were female and 121 of them were male population.

Among the 329 participants 23.40% of them were free from all kind of eye diseases, 16.11% of them had Presbyopia, 15.20% of them had refractive error, 7.29% of them had Dry eye syndrome, 6.99% of them had Age Related Cataract (ARC), 6.69% of them had Pseudophakia, 6.69% of them had Immature Senile Cataract, 4.56% of them had Ocular Allergy, 2.74% of them had Mature Senile Cataract, 2.13% of them had Pterygium, 1.82% of them had Posterior Sub Capsular Cataract, and remaining were suffering from other eye related problems like Pinguecula, Posterior Capsular Opacity, Viral Allergic Conjunctivitis, Conjunctivitis, Nasolacrimal Duct Block, Non Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Blepharitis, Viral Kerato Conjunctivitis and Corneal Opacity. 24 of them who had severe eye conditions, were refered to higher facilities for further examinations. 69 participants got reading glassess as prescribed by Ophthalmic Assistants from Himalayan Eye Hospital.
