Tokha Jhor is a semi-rural area located on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu, known for its peaceful surroundings, hilly terrain, and close-knit community. Although it lies near the capital city, many residents still face challenges in accessing regular healthcare services, especially specialized eye care.
BM Foundation and KDC General Hospital successfully conducted a one-day Free Eye Screening Camp at Jhor Mahankal Health Post, Tokha-1, Kathmandu, with generous support from TPB (Taiwan Prevent Blindness). The camp aimed to promote eye health and provide essential eye care services to the local community.
More than 100 individuals received free eye checkups, and over 50 people were provided with free medicines and spectacles. Participants also benefited from expert consultations offered by the ophthalmic team.
The main findings of the camp were: Presbyopia, Cataract, Refractive Error. The majority of the participants were elderly, with a higher number of female attendees compared to males. The critical cases identified during the camp were referred to the KDC Eye Care Center for further evaluation and treatment.
We are happy to serve the community and spread awareness about the importance of healthy vision. If you would like to collaborate for further treatment or surgical camps, we are always open for collaboration.
